Christmas 2008

(our first tree in the new house)

(Chance and his stuffed squirrel
that he got for Christmas)

(Duke got a stuffed duck and
loves it!)

(who needs Rudolph
when you have Chance,
the black-nosed Labrador?)

Finally settled into our new house, we even managed to get a Christmas tree a few days after moving in and it's all decorated with presents underneath! The first week in our new house has been a busy one what with still trying to get situated and organized plus going to the holiday parties that seem to be every week-end night during this time of year, decorating, and, of course, doing some holiday baking. I only have had time to make mini marble pound cakes this year with everything else that is going on in our lives but gave them as gifts to my co-workers, friends and family.

We hope to get lots of pictures posted this next week of our new house and Christmas festivities. Dan's sister Ashley will be in town for Christmas this year along with a visit from my friends, Erin and Roy, who now live in Arizona, and Maggie and Jami got to see the new house last week-end (and get lots of dog hair on them from the ever-needy Chance and Duke!) and exchange presents. Dan's Aunt Pat was also in town from Melbourne Beach this past week, and we got to enjoy a steak dinner with her at his Mom's house.

It's a busy but fun time of year and finally cold today for the season. Unfortunately, it will get warm again as the week progresses and to have a fire on Christmas will probably involve having the air conditioning on as well. That's Florida for you!
