10 weeks later after the birth of Ella B., Dan and I are still alive, a little less rested, but happy and enjoying our new bundle. Much has changed in these last 10 weeks with EB already "talking" up a storm, using her legs and arms like she is working out at the gym and getting bigger each day. She loves food as much as her parents and prefers to be on the move instead of just sitting in one spot. Now that she has started daycare (at week 9), she has so much more entertainment on a daily basis, watching the other babies and toddlers who are older than she is, and trying to fight her naps so that she doesn't miss a thing!
EB was baptized in February (pictures above) in a lovely ceremony with grandparents, godparents and friends all there to witness. The water didn't phase her much, just a little bit of flinching, and she didn't cry until after the ceremony (when she declared she had put on her performance and was now very ready to eat) on the sunny day in Tallahassee. We somehow found a dress to fit her tiny body, although it did seem like there was more fabric than baby for sure. All in all, it was a perfect day.
Outside of baby world, I am training for a marathon in Big Sur, CA (on April 29, 2012) to celebrate my good friend, Tiffany's, 5 year cancer free mark, a trip we've had planned for a few years now. While I'm trying to fit in my runs, Dan is busy with spring planting and yard work, which he loves. Weekend trips to the local nurseries for deals on plants and ideas have started again and the yard is shaping-up nicely. Chance and Duke have adjusted to a new person living in THEIR house and are doing their usual: eating, napping and waiting for the moment we play ball with them. Ahhh, the life of a dog.
Happy spring to everyone!
