Wine and Tapas

This year for Valentine's Day, Dan and I hosted a wine tasting party in our new home. Our guests enjoyed a tapas menu, which included marinated Manchego with roasted red peppers, chorizo and black bean empanadas, artichoke and olive tapenade with goat cheese, serrano wrapped asparagus, rojo grilled shrimp, picadillo, tres leches cupcakes and chocolate covered strawberries. We tasted four different kinds of Spanish wine (two whites, two reds), and, of course, had beer on hand for those that didn't want wine once the tasting was done.

We had a great time visiting with everyone and the last of our guests left at midnight so hopefully that signals they had a fun time as well.

Cheers from Denise who liked
the second white wine, a Verdejo
called Spring in a Bottle
Yum, dessert! Tres Leches cupcakes
and chocolate covered strawberries
Kevin, Lindsay and
Shelby enjoying the
first wine - Las Brisas -
a Spanish white that is
like a Sauvignon Blanc

Red wine tasting room with a
romantic fire going to get everyone
in the Valentine's Day spirit!

Scott, Krista, Cindy and Brad -
Brad has a beer at this point
but we broke him down by the
time we hit the red wines and
he got a glass and started
tasting along with us!

Shelby,

Dan was making fun of me because I forwarded him a "cute" Panda pics email. Now I see that he is hosting wine tasting parties...Do me a favor and slap him on the back of his head. He has no right to judge my masculinity...:)

He had two coolers of beer for the guys so he's got one up on you right now unless your pandas were drinking beer?!!? We had a great time Saturday and all the guys even had fun. The next tasting is a beer tasting so you need to come to town for that.
