Kentucky Derby

The Kentucky Derby is the oldest horse race in U.S. history and is for three-year-old Thoroughbred horses. It is held annually in Louisville, Kentucky on the first Saturday in May, and is one and a quarter miles held at Churchill Downs. The race is known as "The Most Exciting Two Minutes in Sports".

Our Derby experience was a little more humid than the one experienced by those actually at the race since summer seems to have already arrived in Tallahassee, but we still enjoyed betting on Dublin and Devil May Care to win at the American Cancer Society benefit - "Talk Derby to Me" - we attended. (Super Saver ended-up the winner or the Wal-Mart horse as I termed him). Friends Molly and Carter were there to sport their hat and seersucker along with us as I sipped on a Fleur de Le and enjoyed the atmosphere.

Maybe next year we'll finally host our own Derby party as we've always wanted to do. We do love a reason to throw a party!
