Beginning of Summer

We have had a very busy spring and now that summer is here, we are hopefully headed into relaxation mode! At the end of April, we went on a trip to Big Sur, CA for me to run a marathon for my friend, Tiffany's, 5 year cancer free anniversary. We've had this trip planned since before Ella B. was even in the picture and weren't sure how it would all play-out traveling with a 4 month old from the East coast to the West. Our worries were unfounded as she was the perfect traveler, Monterey, Carmel and Big Sur were beautiful as we expected, and Tiffany, with friends Kathy and Sandy, all ran the race enjoying the breathtaking sites and each other along the 26.2. The trip was much too short so Dan and I hope to go back for a longer visit eventually, maybe even adding a Napa Valley leg to the trip.

With Memorial Day kicking off summer officially, EB had her first dip in the pool - ever - which she seemed to like after getting over the initial apprehension of the vast, cool water all around her. Dan loved pushing her around on the raft and showing her the pool in her pink polka dotted bathing suit with a tutu! We had a family cook-out Saturday evening along with a few other small commitments over the long weekend, but overall, we were glad to be home with little obligation for once. EB, of course, kept up her "exercising" schedule despite the holiday. She's a big fan of tummy time and doing her push-ups! She is wanting to crawl (which I'm trying to delay and Dan is trying to speed-up) and is almost there, just needs a little more strength to get herself moving. She turned 5 months yesterday which I'm sure will bring even more new milestones throughout the summer.
