Cookbook and TransRockies

Hi All!

At the beginning of the year, Robin Adams and I decided to look into the idea of competing in the TransRockies Challenge in August 2010 in Colorado (please see this link for details on this incredible race: http://transrockies.com/transrockiesrun/transrockies/race_main.htm). The race requires you be a team of two people, so you guessed it, Robin and I will be a team!

Once we decided it was something we really thought would be an adventure of a lifetime, we started brainstorming ideas for creative and unique fundraising for our race that included producing something friends and family could also enjoy. Since Robin is a professional photographer and I love to cook, we decided creating a cookbook with full color photographs for runners and nonrunners alike would be a project we would both enjoy, and would help us reach our goal of raising the $3,000 we need for the entry fee.

We would like to ask any of you who has a favorite recipe, to donate it to our growing recipe list. We might not be able to include all the recipes in our book just because of size, but sincerely hope we can, making a collection of eclectic recipes with our local community's favorites. All of the recipes in our new cookbook will be made and tested by us, along with family and friends. We would like the book to have a little something for everyone - athletes, nonathletes, men, women, moms, dads, teenagers, and younger kids.

If you would like to submit a recipe for our cookbook, please email it to me at shelbyaugust@hotmail.com. If you have questions about our race, cookbook pictures or recipe selection process, please feel free to email me or Robin at robinsportraits@yahoo.com.

Thanks to everyone who took the time to read this email. Happy eating everyone!

Shelby

**We will also be hosting two fundraising parties with some of our cookbook recipes on August 30 (brunch theme) and November 7 (wine tasting and tapas theme) so keep these dates in mind since you will be receiving information about them in the near future. We hope to have our cookbook for sale at or near the holidays for the chefs in your lives as well.
