Thanksgiving Weekend

We had a fabulous long Thanksgiving weekend. Having four days off with family and friends is the life! We started our Thanksgiving with the Turkey Trot in Southwood (one picture below) and then it was back to clean-up, cook for dinner at 1pm at my parents' house. After stuffing ourselves silly as usual on this day, we made it back home to just relax and reflect on what we are thankful for with our two boys (Chance and Duke).

The rest of our long weekend consisted of getting the Christmas decorations out of the attic to see what we would use this year, buying a tree, making a front door wreath, taking Christmas card pictures and baking Christmas cookies. Even though it's not even December yet, I felt the itch to make four different kinds of cookies for me and Dan to give to co-workers today so they end their Advent season and go into the Christmas season with a belly full of sweets just like Santa. I made white chocolate sugar almond cookies, toffee crackles, chocolate chip dipped sprinkled cookies and butterscotch chocolate thumprints, all new recipes I wanted to try. Dan, of course, was my official taste tester.

We hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving and that you all continue to enjoy your holiday season.
