As everyone knows, FSU has been less than consistent in their football playing this season until the last few weeks, but we've remained loyal fans by cheering for them at home and away. The big FSU/Miami game is up next, Dan and I plan to be there in our garnet and gold, and hope to watch the Seminoles win again. The only game I've missed is when I visited Clermont, FL in October to cheer on my good friend, Tiffany, in The Great Floridian, an Ironman distance race (that is 140.6 miles of swimming, biking and running for those of you who don't know), along with friends Kathy Fox, Maggie Ingram and Tiffany's family: Judy, Andy, Tess, and 4 1/2 year old, Logan, Tiffany's sweet nephew. Tiffany finished victoriously after 16 hours of exercising with a smile on her face and a medal around her neck. It was amazing to see her tackle this type of race and a one-of-a-kind experience to be a spectator from afternoon to after midnight while she competed.
The rest of October has been spent by me at Grace Mission with their kids' club called Awana and on Habitat for Humanity fundraising efforts for the 3rd annual Festival of Trees which will take place on November 17-19. I love both organizations but will be glad when December is here so I can have a bit of a break from the hectic pace for the holidays! Meanwhile, Dan has been hatching another building project plan which is now in full swing. His vision of building a pergola has begun over our deck off the French doors in our living room. So far, the pergola looks fantastic but it is in the rough stages...pictures will follow of the process once it's complete. I am always impressed with Dan's ability to create, this time not being an exception. We can't wait to see the finished product soon.
Last weekend, I had two baby showers given by friends Maggie, April and Lindsay on Saturday then by Tiffany, Kathy and Sandy on Sunday. Both showers were beautiful and so nicely done, and such fun, too. All the cute baby items I was given by friends and family (my Mom) were exciting to open and I actually knew what most of the items were which surprised me! The nursery furniture (crib and dresser) has been ordered by Dan and his Mom, so once that is here, we can start pulling it all together and hopefully have it done before Baby A decides to come into our world.
Here are a few pictures from our fall so far...more to come in future posts of the pergola, more baby showers and the nursery.
