With Halloween falling on a Friday, there were parties going on all over town, and friends dressing up to go out for the night, but Dan and I opted to go to the Kings' 4th Annual Halloween Party held on the front porch at the King home. Bradley's sausage dogs and brew were the main dish, along with chili and other Fall fare. The children of the guests and in the neighborhood made this party their first stop of the night, as they do every year, so we got to see them all get excited about trick-or-treating as it got dark. It's great to see children on Halloween and hear them tell you it's the "best holiday of the year". We agree since we love candy and a chance to drink Witch's "brew".
The rest of the weekend for us consisted of more work at our new house (removing more wallpaper from the master bath) and, of course, watching the FSU game (vs. Georgia Tech) Saturday afternoon. The game was a bit depressing since we all thought FSU made an incredible run of it at the end. I think even Bowden, the players and assistant coaches, were confident that FSU was going to come back despite being down by as many as 14 points at one point. FSU entered the fourth quarter trailing by 11 points and almost made the winning score but the freshman running back fumbled the football as he was running towards the end zone, and it was recovered by Georgia Tech. The final score was 31-28. Bring on Clemson because I'm sure the team is fired-up and ready to prove themselves once again!
After the game, it was off to Chez Pierre for a surprise birthday party for our friend, Krista. We had appetizers and drinks until it was much past our bedtime, as we enjoyed catching up with Cindy, Brad, Ed, Bryce, Scott, and the birthday girl herself, Krista. Since she is a stay-at-home Mom, having a night out without the kids is the best gift she could have received and the fact that friends (and Cake Shop cupcakes) were there was just a bonus. Happy Birthday Krista!
