The big day was finally here - landscaping of the new house on Lothian Drive. We bought around 50 plants and followed our design plan the best we could from noon until five in 40-45 degree temperatures. Coffee and cookies for energy were on-hand along with some water for those who really worked up a sweat. The "crew" included Dan, myself, my Mom, my Dad, Dan's Mom and Dan's brother Stefan. We each had our jobs and worked well together spacing the plants, digging holes (which included hacking-up old pine tree roots - not fun), planting, watering and fertilizing. A family friend, Ginger Cox, who is a landscape designer, gave us a diagram to follow and the plants to get which included: Holly Fern, Dwarf Camellias, Tea Olives, Vinca, regular and giant Liriope, Agapanthus Lilies, Dwarf Indian Hawthorn, varigated Pittosporum, Sago Palms, and Loropetullim.
We planted all that we could so now we just have to wait for the plants to mature and blossom. It's one more piece to the house puzzle we can say we've done and now it's on to the next thing!

And it was perfect that after all our hard work, we got to see the Noles beat the Terps (Maryland) 37-3 and stay alive in the ACC Championship chase.
