I ran the mini marathon (13.1 miles) and my Mom (picture to the right is of her showing-off her race number with the train going by in the background) came with me to do the 5K (3.1 miles) and we both had a fun time and got good finishing times in our two events, me with 2:03 and my Mom finishing in 0:45. My Mom even had a chance while waiting on me to look at the crafts and food vendors, buying a local favorite pound cake with whipped cream topping that were sold out in the first hour they were open, along with some boiled peanuts, a favorite of my Dad's.
Boston is such a cute, quaint city that this event is always fun to do. The run and walk are on a farm road so you pass cows pretty much the first 5 miles of the race, then the last 5 since it is an out and back course, along with open fields and farm houses. It was drizzling a bit while we were running and it was windy, but it didn't rain and it wasn't hot so we weren't complaining. We decided starting your day in Boston, GA is a nice way to begin your weekend and we try to make it every year in October.
