In celebration of St. Francis, our church, St. John's, held a concert of Italian baroque music by Pergolesi, Vivaldi, Caldara, and Marini, followed by a Blessing of the Animals in Eve's Garden. All creatures great and small were welcome and were blessed, then given treats. However, we didn't think our two 70 lb. Labs could contain their excitement and be on their best church behavior, so instead, they were visited at the Grandparents' house for an afternoon of retrieving until they wore themselves out and had so much water, all they could do was lie on the cold concrete porch!
